Improvements on DesignSpecs

Today we launched a minor update of DesignSpecs. It is the first update since the start of the platform. We made the following improvements:

"Add product"-button
Within a project it was quite unclear for users how to add a product on your own. The "Add product" button was only visible when you would filter on a room. Therefore some people did not find this button at all. In the new situation this button is added to the header of the project and is therefore always available. That 's why adding products to your own company database is now much more easy.

Error messages
Error messages have been made more striking. From now on, if you make an error or if you forget to enter data in a required field, a red error message appears. This way it is more clear why sending the form is not succesful.

Error screen(s)
We added a screen for 403 and 404-errors. This way, in the exceptional case that you get an error, you will enter a screen that will get you back on track quickly

Room "unspecified"
Within a project (when you filter on "room") there is a room "Unspecified". We changed some code so that this room is always on top.

Size limit of pictures
Some users had issues because the size of pictures was limited to 2 Mb. This required users to resize pictures before uploading them. We raised the limit of the maximum size of these pictures from 2 Mb to 10 Mb.

Usability and SEO
We made some improvements for usability and SEO. For example we added a sitemap so that Google can crawl DesignSpecs more easily!

Translation issues
Several small translation issues were fixed

About updates

This was only a minor update. We aim to make three major updates every year in order to improve and extend the provided services, mainly by adding new features to the software and/or improving the usability. As DesignSpecs is cloud based, all users can enjoy these new features directly! Please note that new features will not infuence your projects itself; your projects and all added information will stay available at all time.

We expect to release a major update in September! More information will follow in due time.
